Steve & Leigh To be frank, when Margaret suggested trauma cover for my children, I thought "how terrible, I don't want to think about something bad happening to my kids". I was pretty sure they weren't going to get hit by a car as I am a vigilant parent. I was a bit cross. However, no amount of vigilance could prevent my youngest child getting leukaemia, at three years old. The shock of being told your child has cancer is overwhelming. And the financial impact is huge, I instantly left my job and will not be able to return for three years. Within one week of diagnosis we received full trauma payment. I was able to call Margaret and she processed the whole claim without us having to go through endless hoops or loads of forms. This meant my husband could take significant time off work to be with us during those first weeks. I am well aware that had Margaret not called me just one year before, I would not have had cover for my son getting sick. We would have had to sell our home, and I would have had to work during an impossible time. At the time, you think this doesn't happen to us, this happens to other people.
